The order of work. Playwell gives a project-specific schedule after the site review.
- Hydraulic designCalculate flow and total dynamic head for the pool, spa and features.
- Equipment selectionPump, filter type (cartridge, sand or DE), heater and sanitation, matched to the design.
- Suction safetyDrains and suction outlets arranged and covered to prevent entrapment.
- PlumbingSuction and return lines sized to the flow and pressure tested before they are covered.
- Equipment padEquipment set, plumbed and wired at the pad location on the plan.
- Start-upSystem primed, run and checked, with controls and filter care explained to you.

Filtration System Setup: common questions
Cartridge, sand or DE filter?
All three work. Cartridge filters need no backwashing, sand filters are simple and durable, and DE filters capture the finest particles. The right choice depends on the pool size, features and how much upkeep you want.
What do building departments ask for on filtration?
Orange County asks for an ANSI/APSP 7 total dynamic head worksheet and an ANSI/APSP 15 energy efficiency worksheet with an inground pool permit. Lake County's checklist asks for equipment specifications and TDH calculations.
Can you replace the equipment on an existing pool?
Yes. Equipment replacement is quoted after a site review of the existing pad, plumbing and electrical.
Who cleans the pool after it is built?
Playwell designs and builds the pool. After handoff, A Clean Pool USA, Playwell's partner, provides routine pool cleaning and water care.
